How to use the insurance.
If you have a chronic disease.
A travel insurance is designed to cover acute illness and injury. Contact ihi Bupa if you suffer or have suffered from a condition before you begin your trip. This applies to every trip - not just at the time you take out the insurance. see also Art 6.5
Acute assistance in the event of injury
If you need help, you can contact our medical centre 24 hours a day on telephone number .... We will send a guarantee of payment to hospitals, arrange home transportation and provide other kind of assistance in connection with acute illness and injury etc.
In case of injury
You must always notify ihi Bupa immediately in case of hospitalisation, compassionate emergency repatriation, next-of-kin accompaniment, compassionate emergency visit, death and accident.
Physician's bills and medicine expenses must be reported to ihi Bupa as soon as you have returned home from your trip. You can print a claim form or have one sent. Please complete the form with as much detailed information as possible and send it to ihi Bupa together with all relevant original documentation such as receipts and itemised physician's bills, expenses for medicine and dental treatment.
If you are hospitalised, you do not need to pay for the treatment yourself. As soon as ihi Bupa has guaranteed the payment, the hospital bill will be settled directly with ihi Bupa.
